Cecil's Texas Style Bar-B-Q on South Orange Avenue in SoDo has run cafeteria style since 1992, an old school roadhouse where trays move down a fast, loud and friendly line. Brisket is hand sliced to order alongside ribs, pulled pork and hot links smoked over hickory, with jalapeno mashed potatoes, collard greens and sweet potato souffle piled on as sides. Guests talk up huge portions and value for the price, and the free self serve soft serve closes the tray on a sweet note.
