The Write-Up
Reyes Mezcaleria brings the cooking of Michoacán-born chef Wendy Lopez to North Orange Avenue, in a room guests describe as vibrant, beautiful and alive. Lamb birria tacos, snapper tacos and Oaxaca enchiladas with mole carry the menu, the shrimp watermelon appetizer lands with a wonderful kick, and the margaritas come out spot on. A deep bench of agave spirits and Mexican wines gives the meal its second act, though portions lean refined, so order a few plates to share.
