The full story

Kres Chophouse works out of a 1930s Church Street landmark downtown, elegant and polished with its original architecture intact. Prime steaks are aged in house and hand-cut, the Filet Wellington is the signature, and a full vegan menu runs to oysters Rockefeller and a beef Wellington of its own, with a churro waffle for dessert. Guests call the service impeccable and the wine list deep; one regular swears the filet was the best in a decade.
