University

University Boulevard is the spine: one long student corridor running from Full Sail University at the west end to the University of Central Florida at the east, with Alafaya Trail and Colonial Drive carrying the overflow. Pizza, noodle shops, bars and sweets dominate, joined by the Aloma Avenue cluster near Full Sail: bowling lanes, a Cajun kitchen, and the groceries students actually cook from. Expect student prices and portions built for sharing.

New in Town

The first-week brief for Full Sail and UCF students: how the buses and tolls actually work, where the first grocery run goes, and which rooms on this list keep late hours.

No car? Workable, with a plan

Both campuses sit on working bus corridors: LYNX routes run University Boulevard, Alafaya Trail and Aloma Avenue, and the plazas on this list cluster along them. Rideshares are easy at midday and surge at class change and bar close, so the bus is the steady option, and a bike covers the Aloma and University corridors well. Driving instead? The plazas on this list come with their own surface lots; campus lots are permit territory.

The toll traps

Orlando is toll country: the 408, 417 and 528 find every newcomer eventually. If you drive regularly, a SunPass or E-PASS transponder is the cheap way through, and rental cars pass tolls back at a markup. Learn this one cold: toll agencies never text payment links. The unpaid-toll text carrying a link is a smishing scam, so delete it and check any balance on the agency's own site.

The first grocery run

Eating out is covered from day one, with Zackleys firing pizzas inside the Full Sail campus and the Aloma Avenue cluster a few minutes west. For cooking, two small groceries near Full Sail carry what the supermarkets skim past: Alexandria Market for Middle Eastern and halal staples, and Pereira Latin Products for Latin pantry goods. Between them, food from home is a short trip, not a cross-town expedition.

After the last session

Full Sail runs sessions around the clock, and UCF keeps its own late calendar. The rooms on this list tagged for late nights include Knight Library and Lazy Moon by UCF and Luminescent out on Colonial, and the lanes at Aloma Bowl give the Full Sail end a group night that is not a bar. Filter the full finder by Late to see the whole set.

Study fuel

For laptop hours, the linger-friendly end of this list is the dessert and tea rooms: Ice & Bites and Dang Boba near UCF are built for staying a while. On the Full Sail end, Vivahealthy Pink House pairs coffee with actual food and a weekly meal prep, and Dutch Bros on Semoran handles the drive-through caffeine run.
